I’m Bernie and I’m one of the hosts of the Polytics podcast. I helped found The Kanawi Community back in 2001.

I live in the Main House at Kanawi, which was one of the original structures, along with the Guest House. Most people move around a lot, even if they stay in the community, but I’m one of the few that has stayed in the same place; I like my room and I’m not giving it up, although I’m certainly willing to share it 
Professionally, I am a freelance tutor. There are plenty of children and college kids alike that need tutoring (as well as the occasional person who is going back to get their degree), and so I keep pretty busy with that. I’ve offered to homeschool any kids that end up moving into the community, but none have yet.
