Bernie, please, use my 4th grade teacher’s hiccup cure:
Hold your ears closed with flat hands, so they are sealed.
Drink a glass of water at the same time.
You will need help from someone, either with the ears or holding the glass.
She used to press us into her bosom while she held her ears and we drank the water (in a grandmotherly way) but that part is optional.
